Stehr, Argall Announce Nearly $774,000 in LSA Funding for Schuylkill County Projects

September 15, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Joanne Stehr (R-Northumberland/Schuylkill) and Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) today announced $773,892 in Local Share Account (LSA) funding for three projects in the 107th District. The awards will support emergency response, fire protection and improvements to a municipal facility.

“Reliable emergency services and safe, accessible community facilities are essential to the people who live in our rural communities,” said Stehr. “These projects will provide local first responders with the equipment and resources they need while helping ensure residents have access to safe, well-maintained public facilities.”

“I am pleased to see these highly competitive funds coming back to our local communities, improving infrastructure, public facilities, and public safety for local residents,” said Argall.

The funding will support the following 107th District projects:

• Hegins-Hubley Authority: $277,733 to improve fire protection and emergency water supply in Hegins Township, including new fire hydrants, emergency power, a bulk water fill station and a water main extension.

• Hubley Township: $300,000 toward a new ambulance for the Hegins Area Ambulance Association to replace an aging vehicle serving more than 100 square miles of rural area.

• Pine Grove Borough: $196,159 for a new roof and ADA-compliant entrance door at the borough municipal building to address needed repairs and improve accessibility.

The Local Share Account program is funded by gaming revenues under Pennsylvania’s Race Horse Development and Gaming Act and administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. It supports projects that improve the quality of life for residents, including public safety, infrastructure and community development initiatives.
