Stehr Announces $1.8 Million for Transportation Projects
August 18, 2026
HARRISBURG – Nearly $1.8 million in state funding has been awarded to two transportation projects in the 107th Legislative District through the Multimodal Transportation Fund, according to Rep. JoAnne Stehr (R-Northumberland/Schuylkill).
The funding is part of nearly $54 million awarded to 50 highway, bridge, aviation, port, bicycle and pedestrian projects across 27 counties through the Multimodal Transportation Fund.
In Schuylkill County, the following projects received funding:
• Schuylkill County: $600,000 to replace Bridge 6 on Bolich Road in Barry Township.
• Sterman-Masser Inc.: $1.2 million for improvements along Mahantongo Street and Route 25.
“These investments will help address critical transportation needs in our communities, improve safety and support local economic development,” said Stehr. “Maintaining our roads and bridges is essential to keeping our communities connected, and I am pleased to see this funding directed to projects in the 107th District.”
The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides financial assistance to municipalities, councils of governments, businesses, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies, ports and rail freight entities for projects that improve transportation assets, enhance communities and increase pedestrian safety.
PennDOT will begin accepting applications for the next round of Multimodal Transportation Fund grants on Sept. 14. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Oct. 30. Grant recipients for funding available in summer 2027 are expected to be announced next year.
