Stehr Highlights Over $1 Million in Available School Safety Funding

HARRISBURG – More than $1.1 million in School Safety and Mental Health Grant funding is now available for schools and educational institutions serving the 107th Legislative District, according to Rep. JoAnne Stehr (R-Northumberland).
The funding can be used for physical security enhancements, behavioral health supports or both. Local schools and educational institutions eligible to apply for the funding include:
Northumberland County
• Line Mountain School District – $143,343.
• Mount Carmel Area School District – $169,437.
• Northumberland County Career and Technology Center – $70,000.
• Shamokin Area School District – $202,809.
Schuylkill County
• Pine Grove Area School District – $164,592.
• Schuylkill IU 29 – $70,000.
• Schuylkill Technology Centers – $70,000.
• Tri-Valley School District – $137,998.
• Williams Valley School District – $144,078.
The nine listed recipients have a combined $1.17 million in grant funding available to them through the program.
“I am glad to see these resources being made available to schools throughout the 107th District,” said Stehr. “Investing in school safety means giving educators and students the tools and support they need to learn and succeed in a secure environment. These grants will help our local schools address important safety and behavioral health needs.”
The School Safety and Mental Health Grant Program provides funding to help schools address safety and security needs, as well as support the behavioral health and well-being of students and staff.
