April 9, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Joanne Stehr (R-Northumberland/Schuylkill) will host an informational open house event for constituents on the PPL Sunbury-Frackville 230 kV Power Line Project. The event will be held Thursday, April 23, from 6-8 p.m. at the Mahantongo Fire Company, 102 Main Road, Pitman.
The open house is an opportunity for 107th District residents to learn more about the project and speak directly with representatives from PPL Electric Utilities. Attendees can ask questions about the rebuild of approximately 37 miles of the existing transmission line, the construction of a new switchyard in Butler Township and other modifications to the region’s electric grid.
The rebuilt transmission line will extend from the Sunbury 500/230 kV Substation in Shamokin Dam to the Frackville 230/69 kV Substation near Frackville. PPL representatives will be on hand to discuss construction plans and right-of-way considerations, and to answer any other questions from residents.
The open house is free and open to all constituents. Residents can attend at any time between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. For more information, visit RepStehr.com/events.
