Stehr Announces Over $1 Million in Grants for Local Water Projects

HARRISBURG – Rep. Joanne Stehr (R-Northumberland/Schuylkill) is pleased to announce nearly $1.1 million in state grants have been awarded through the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program to support critical water system improvements in Northumberland and Schuylkill counties.

The funding will support the following projects:

Lower Mahanoy Township Municipal Authority, Northumberland County: $304,870 for the River Road water line replacement project
Hegins-Hubley Authority, Schuylkill County: $378,518 for West Main and Good Spring Road water system improvements
Porter Township, Schuylkill County: $405,000 for Joilett Street waterline replacement

“These grants will help ensure safe, reliable water services for our communities,” said Stehr. “Investing in these projects protects public health and strengthens the long-term reliability of our local infrastructure.”

The Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program, administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, provides grants to municipalities and authorities for projects that improve drinking water and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and enhancing service reliability.
