Stehr Announces Transportation Improvement Grants for 107th District
HARRISBURG – Projects to improve roads, bridges and downtowns across Schuylkill County were awarded state grants totaling more than $1 million from the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF), according to Rep. JoAnne Stehr (R-Northumberland/Schuylkill).
“It is critical to maintain our roads, sidewalks and bridges because they serve as the main lifelines of our community,” said Stehr. “I am pleased that this grant funding will be allocated towards enhancing our local transportation systems, recognizing the vital role they play in our community’s prosperity and connectivity.”
Projects that received grants include:
•
Barry Township - $425,858 to replace the bridge on Hill Road over Hansyost Creek.
•
Blue Creek Investments LLC - $500,000 for traffic improvements along Locust Gap Highway in Mt. Carmel Borough, Northumberland County.
•
Frailey Township - $100,000 to replace the Clark Street Bridge over Good Spring Creek in Frailey Township, Schuylkill County.
The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to administer the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages.
Funding for this project is being delivered through the DCED Multimodal Transportation Fund grant program, which provides financial support for projects to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable transportation system for commonwealth residents.
